Friday’s Favorite Five

Week #5 and Happy Friday Sweet Friends!! Each Friday I share my Favorite Five things from the past week. They may be products I’ve tried, some way I’ve saved $$, an activity I did…in a nutshell ~ the top 5 things that brought a SMILE to my FACE!

This week has been a tough one for America, another senseless act of terror in our Great Country. Everyone’s heart has been heavy and with the people of Boston.

My thoughts are with one Boston girl in particular, one that I have gotten to know in a place that I spend countless hours these days, known as Blog Land…That Sweet Girl is Gabby from Essentially Eclectic.
I immediately thought of her when I heard news of the tragedy. I showed my husband her blog and said, Gabby lives there! We immediately went into parent mode…hoping she was okay.

Today when the whole area was on lock down searching for one of the bombers…Can you imagine?? LOCKING DOWN a whole area….that just doesn’t happen in the USA…my thoughts wandered back to Gabby, thinking about how frightened she must be.

It’s hard for me to act normal and continue, “Life as Usual”
I am just not programmed that way. I’m an extremely empathetic person.
I know life must go on…but right now I need time to process these events and grieve for America.

My Friday Favorite Five normally comes our first thing each Friday morning…but in light of recent events I wasn’t up for favorite things.

Instead I am focusing on the things I am thankful for:

Friendships near and far
First responders everywhere, (heroes like my husband)
who are willing to risk their lives to help others
Law enforcement and other agencies working to keep America safe
Volunteers and Community groups raising money and assisting in every way possible

Please visit Gabby’s blog, read her reflections from today, and leave her a comment and some love. I know she needs it.

Hug your family,
remind them how much you love them and
stay safe sweet friends!
Thanks for reading
xoxo
