Last year my wonderful friend/neighbor Nikki went for a vaca in the mountains. She brought me back a beer bread mix…it was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! We loved it!
So when Nikki told me the shop where she bought it, didn’t have an online store…I was disappointed…UNTIL…
While perusing Pinterest on a rainy afternoon, I stumbled upon a recipe for Beer Bread and figured I’d give it a try. What a cozy setting…warm inside with bread baking in the oven….
Want to know the BEST part?? How quick you can get this bread into the oven. Easy enough to prepare after getting home from work. (That I LOVE!)
First Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan; set aside.
1 cup bread flour
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
3 tablespoons honey
1 (12-ounce) bottle beer (lager or ale)
4 tablespoons melted butter
In a large bowl whisk together the dry ingredients. (flours, baking powder, salt and sugar)
Add your favorite dark lager or ale (beer) and honey to the dry ingredients. Stir until thoroughly combined.
Spread the batter evenly into prepared bread pan. Pour the melted butter evenly over the top of the batter. Bake for about 45-55 until golden brown.
Allow to cool before slicing.
(I’ll be honest, we couldn’t wait and the bread crumbled a little but oh…so warm and yummy!)
After the bread cooled it sliced beautifully! The CRUST is so delish! Sweet and buttery…
Yes…I ate too much before dinner and ruined my appetite but that’s okay, I needed lunch for work tomorrow anyway!
Nothing better then the smell of baking bread…You can smell it can’t you??? Let me know if you make some!

You will LOVE it Gabby! I actually used a left over beer someone brought over this time but I'm going to get some Yuengling or Stella next time. If you have a fave dark beer use that!

It is so delicious! Pretty cool that the yeast in the beer makes it rise!~ Not sure who ever thought of doing it but I'm glad they did!

I am definitely going to try this bread! I have some Pumpkin Ale from last fall that I have been wondering what to do with. I found you through Sew Many Ways, and have signed up to follow you with email. Can't wait to start getting your posts. I know what you mean about adults calling you mom. One of my sons is a grandfather. I don't mind being a great grandmother to the adorable grands, but I do not like being the mother of a grandfather!! Can you believe it? How can that be? I'm only a child myself….lol.
Sharon ~ Life After Empty Nest | 22nd Apr 13
Linda that is SO true!! I am just a child myself…not sure why everyone around me is aging and I remain the same! : )
"Age is just a number" my Dad always said…he was so right!
Oh…Pumpkin Ale…I bet that will be fabulous! Let me know how that turns out! Last night my husband said "The only thing that would make tonight's dinner better would be some more of that beer bread!"
So glad to have you as a follower! Can't wait to hear from you again!

This looks really good! What's cool is what gives rise to the bread is all in the beer LOL … that could sound bad if out of context 🙂 New follower from A Little Clairification hop and following :). Heather M, http://www.RockStew.com
