I make a fantastic dessert I call Death by Chocolate! It is a chocolate lover”s dream!
However when I hosted a Valentine’s Day Brunch I wanted to change things up a little. You can read about the brunch here. So I created a Valentine’s Day version…
1 box Duncan Hines Red Velvet Cake mix
8 oz Cool Whip
Reeses peanut butter cups – 2- 8 packs
Chocolate instant pudding mix (large)
Valentine M & M s (pink, red, white)
Kahlua
Prepare Red Velvet cake in a 13 x 9 pan according to box directions
1 1/4 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
Prepare pudding according to package directions. Refrigerate to set.
Unwrap and freeze in a zip lock bag. After hardened, chop coarsely. I use a tenderizing mallet.
Chop these to use as a colorful topping.
After the cake is done I let it rest for 10 minutes. I poke holes in it with the end of a wooden spoon then drizzle Kahlua into the holes. (This step is optional)
In the bottom of a truffle dish(I bought mine at Target)
BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS!
Chill in the refrigerator until serving!
Serve this to your Valentine! They are sure to LOVE you even more…if that’s possible!
Leave me a comment if you make this…or have a version I should try!!
Happy Valentine’s Day
Thanks for reading!
